an evening at rashtrapati bhavan

Vandita Parikh had the honor of performing at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, in the audience of our honorable
President, Smt. Pratibha Patil in 2011.

She was chosen  among ten other dancers from the world stage representing different dance styles and Vandita presented the Indian folk dance, Gummar, from the state of Rajasthan. Vandita performed a dance called Naari and was well received by the audience. It was a 10 minute choreography comprising of the CHARI NRITYA and the TERATAALI style of Rajasthani folk dance. Each choreography was distinct, refined and complex. Her reviews have been published in the local newspapers like Sakal, Dainik Jagran. The Gujurati Samaj of Chennai, India honored her on her accomplishment to have received this honor.

Also during her visit,  Vandita also had the opportunity to attend  a dance training  conducted by Guru Sri Sashadhar Acharya  for learning the art form Chhau, a folk dance form Orissa.

The NSDA family is very proud of Vandita Parikh’s accomplishments and recieving this honor of performing at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
