Vandita has been teaching Indian folk and contemporary dance for over 23 years, and has conducted over 50 workshops and lecture demonstrations for various institutions and universities. She completed her training in Bharatnatyam under Mrs. Nirmala Sharma and Smt Krishnaveni Akka at Kalakshetra Dance Academy. She has learnt folk dances at workshops held by "Darpan Dance School" run by Guru Mallika Sarabai. She has also obtained special training under Gopi Master and Madhumati Barman.

She has received wide acclaim for her deep commitment to the advancement of fine arts and her artistic excellence. She was invited to be the world ensemble instructor for Indian dance at Booker T Washington School for Performing Arts and also held workshops at University of Texas Dallas, Oklohoma State University and Indian Association of North Texas. Vandita strongly believes in using dance as a platform to serve the community. She has manifested this motto through her initiative Nruthyaseva and has engaged in various collaborative works and performances for organizations such as C.R.Y, DARCC, Btter Chances, North Texas Food Bank and Alzheimer’s Association to name a few.

She performed at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in 2011 and recieved an award from the then President, Smt. Pratibha Patil.
